Before all were present, there was discussion of emails and spam filters, both electronic and protoplasmic, and of firewalls, which sometimes make it difficult for board members to get to the chat room.
Chair called the meeting to order at 1:16 EDT.
The Treasurer reported the new bank account pays no interest, but charges no fees. The balance is $1,406.74, $300 of which is SFPL operating funds. Treasurer has also begun application for a PayPal account, which will allow on-line donations (button to be added to the Contact page of the website). The Contact page will be changed to reflect the current status of SFPL's 501(c)3 application (pending), including a note about the deductible status of donations made in the year such application is approved.
Poggiani asked that people take a look at the website and let her know what they think of it.
At 2:45, Chair called for the election of a new Chair and Vice Chair. At the last meeting, nominations were made of:
No new nominations had been received by email. Chair called for new nominations from the floor; there were none. Chair called for the vote. Mayerle was elected to the position of Chair unanimously. Cochran was elected to the position of Vice Chair: 5 aye, herself abstaining.
At 3:01, Lasker handed the gavel to Mayerle.
Chair asked for more business. Poggiani and Dorsett mentioned the Finance page on the website, which needs edits to match ReadAssist's becoming a committee of SFPL, a corporation; Dorsett will email changes to Poggiani.
