The following members were present in the ReadAssist Chatroom at aim.com:
Chair called meeting to order at 1:04 PM CST, February 21, 2006, and declared a quorum. All relevant documentation regarding this Board will be kept by the Communications Officer & Recorder.
Chair asked Dailey about updates on autographs for RoF and about an RA ad in Baen books. Dailey is sending out bookplates to the RA authors since four copies of RA have been purchased but none of the books made it past three shipments, Dailey will be sending out the rest of the bookplates in SASE to make it easy for the RoF authors to sign and return the bookplates. Should be done in another month or so. Dailey is sending signed bookplates to Boyes, who purchased the last copy of RoF. Dorsett bought the first copy. Dailey bought two. Dailey should also be sending out an updated copy of the RA ad in the next week or so.
Dailey has updated the RA ads and will send them out to the subcommittee members, to include Eric. Change includes reference to the Science Fiction Public Library and a reduced emphasis on RA being only for "disabled" readers.
Discussion continued on moving the Webscriptions process forward. Is it just an email process or do we need an operational database linked to the online form? Need input from Dorsett, McComb and anyone else who has any idea how to get it operational.
Chair mentioned that we’re waiting for Boyes & J./C. Dorsett(s) to finish the paperwork for the 501 status and to get a notice of a meeting (SFPL) in the next 60 days or so. Boyes’ status report is attached below.
Poggiani suggested rewording the RA mission statement a bit. Now the impression is that it is only for the handicapped, instead of also for the handicapped. She will reword, send a draft to Dailey and Chair before next meeting. Dailey will then talk to Eric about it.
Next RA meeting is scheduled for April 1, 2006, 12 noon PST (2 PM CST).
Poggiani moved to adjourn. Dailey seconded. Passed by majority vote.

SFPL incorporation documents have been revised in accordance with the RA board meeting minutes, and approved by Jody, Chris, me and Eric. Jody has been told to go ahead with the filing of the papers. As soon as that happens, SFPL will be real. I recommend waiting on dealing with the webscriptions thing until that happens.
